products locally and internationally. We wholesale these products throughout South Africa, Namibia and Botswana.

Numill was established in 1989 by Pierre Venter and initially the business bought and sold only local South African

pine

. The business has grown steadily, expanding into

hardwood products

, throughout South Africa and into value-added

timber

products, like

decking

, and

plywood

. The business is still owned and managed by Pierre Venter and still maintains an entrepreneurial and informal attitude, where customer service and great quality is of paramount importance.

Numill

has its head office in Strand, Cape Town, an office in Gauteng and warehouses located in Gauteng and Durban. Twenty five employees in the Cape Town and Gauteng office are available to assist customers and deliveries take place daily all over Cape Town and Gauteng. Numill's warehouses have space for thousands of cubic metres of

timber

, ensuring availability of the variety that customers require in species, grade and dimension of

timber

Numill's

hardwoods

are imported from North and South America, Europe, South-East Asia and Africa.

Softwoods

(predominantly

pine

) are purchased from local sawmills and also imported from South America and Australasia. Numill believes that sustainable forestry is the best strategy for its business and encourages customers, suppliers and partners to pursue environmentally sustainable practices. Where possible,

sources timber from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified suppliers and endeavours to use suppliers who comply with all environmental legislation in their country of origin. Numill has FSC chain of custody certification (FSC certificate SA-COC-002717) and will continue to engage in practices that promote responsible and sustainable forestry.
